Technical Assistance
Arizona Department of Housing is committed to providing current and potential partners with the technical assistance necessary to access our financial resources and develop programs or projects that meet critical community development and housing needs. ADOH can provide project-specific assistance as well as program design, implementation, and evaluation services. Karia Basta is the Technical Assistance Coordinator for ADOH and is available to talk with you regarding available resources and options.

PARTNERSHIPS


ADOH is partnering with the University of Arizona’s Drachman Institute on a project that will allow Drachman Institute to provide training on housing needs assessments, help communities and agencies with strategic plans, and housing design, along with conducting free workshops, as well as training and consultation services. In FY2010 Drachman Institute will work with six communities or nonprofits to provide some of the above referenced services for specific projects. Developed and sponsored by ADOH and the Arizona State University Stardust Center, the Arizona Collaborative Clearinghouse provides access to documents and resources on a variety of topics pertaining to housing affordability and sustainable communities, with particular relevance to communities and conditions in Arizona. Visit the site: www.azcollaborative.net  


TRIBAL TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

The Arizona Department of Housing is committed to working with the Tribes of Arizona in the planning, coordination, development, and funding of affordable housing through a dedicated staff, and Tribal Liaison.

Eligible applicants
include tribal governments, local units of government, Tribally Designated Housing Entities (TDHE), tribal housing authorities, non-profit organizations, private development agencies, and other housing providers.

Eligible activities include, but are not limited to, Permanent and Transitional Rental Housing, including Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), Homeownership New Development, and Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation and Emergency Repair. Funding is available through the State Housing Fund, a combination of Federal HOME dollars and Housing Trust Fund monies.  Arizona is one of a limited number of states that has provided a set-aside of Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) for development on tribal land.
